Annual Awards Ceremony

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – June 16, 2023 – The American Marketing Association (AMA) San Antonio Chapter announced the winners of its 2023 Marketing Excellence Awards at its annual awards dinner held June 15 at Magnolia Halle (10319 Huebner Road). The local marketing association recognized marketing campaign winners – spanning various sectors, such as retail, healthcare, nonprofits, education and more.

“We had a lot of great entries this year and the competition was very tough. In the end, I think our judges did a great job of selecting campaigns that showcase why San Antonio is the hidden gem of talent in the marketing industry. Our rich history and diverse population in San Antonio breeds unique and impactful marketing campaigns. The talent we have in San Antonio is second to none!” said Justin Clark, president of the AMA San Antonio Chapter.

To ensure impartiality, the entries were judged by members of the AMA Chapter in Baltimore, Maryland. The campaigns were scored based on their overall goal setting, achievement of stated goals, campaign effectiveness, creative implementation and more.

The First Place winners in each category were:

  • Business to Business - Mensor

  • Food & Beverage - Embark Marketing

  • Healthcare / Medical Services - Community First Health Plans

  • Higher Education/K-12 - e.f. marketing group

  • Non Profit / Governmental - MVW Communications

  • Retail - GDC Marketing + Ideation

  • Tourism / Entertainment - Robot Creative

  • Wildcard - Texas Creative

And the illustrious “Best in Show” award that scored the highest and was judged to be most successful was awarded to GDC Marketing + Ideation for their “One Hour Heating and Air - MIllennial Homeowner Campaign.”

A full list of all places and all winners will be posted on our website and social media soon.

The captivating theme of "Reimagine," was chosen to highlight the visionary efforts that have redefined marketing strategies, navigating circumstances and challenges reemerging from the pandemic. With no shortage of new technology available to today’s marketers, the San Antonio chapter realized that we needed to reimagine how the chapter functions and how we service the marketing community.

Entries will open for next year’s Marketing Excellence Awards in early January and campaigns that run this calendar year (2023) will be eligible for next year’s awards.
